FROM NO MARATHON TO 2 MARATHONS IN 2 WEEKS!

Still basking in the glory of completing 2 marathons in 2 weeks.

All because I believed that it was possible. Many thought my plan was insane but I kept training and growing stronger. Sharing my beliefs with people who supported my quest going from zero marathons to 2 in 2 weeks!! (Yeah, I had to drop that in again 🤩).

First and foremost, I needed to commit to myself and to the training. This meant many months of early mornings, long training sessions, eating to support my race goals and always, always,always a positive attitude.

A positive attitude makes endurance training or any kind of training for that matter so much easier.

What was also important was creating my support system - notice my use of the word “create”. No, my support system didn’t just fall into my lap! Lol.


My support system came through locating my community of like minded individuals who also shared similar dreams- not all quite in the same way perhaps but we formed our alliances and helped each other out to make our individual dreams a reality.

Other support came through family, friends and loved ones who weren’t on the road training with me but would follow my long runs remotely via Strava etc, follow up by asking me how did it go? , how did I feel? Making sure I was equipped with the necessary safety gear or clothing to make sure I was free to run safely and injury free. On that note..2XU Com

I also had a phenomenal run buddy who has earned her way into my inner circle...you get to learn about yourself and others on a long run and we connected in a way only distance runners can truly understand. So what’s the moral of this story? Get out and do stuff guys! Live your best life and shake yourself out of that comfort zone!! If you aren’t quite sure how to get there, I can help.
